School Intelligence
At school we measure intelligence by the ability to memorize, perform under pressure and our ability to recite facts in the way they were originally taught to us. Conformity is important for this, as is reliance on the logical side of our brain. Although much of what we learn, we forget soon after an exam, we inadvertently become dependent on our mind. We begin to falsely measure our worth based on marks, accolades and awards. Our own self-esteem may be low, but the outer packaging mightlook “sweet”. Can you imagine high marks, and yet the person doesn’t value, respect or appreciate themselves? Or the person is using these outside accolades to have false self confidence, underpinned by an angst coming from the knowing that so many things are uncertain? How does this help anyone to be happy whilst living?
Self Aware Intelligence
True intelligence, however, is the ability to follow “oneself”, to trust oneself and to know instinctively what suits us and what does not. It is an ongoing flowering. To know when to say “no” and when to say “yes”. True intelligence is very individual and far from conformity to a status quo. A Martin Luther King or John Lennon is driven by true intelligence. In fact true intelligence has very little to do with the mechanical mind at all. It is an internal knowing which will usually break down glass ceilings and shatter through the status quo that exists. True intelligence aims to create a “new” that is better suited for a greater portion of humanity.. It is a conviction backing truth.
Self aware intelligence does not necessarily have masses following initially. One sole rebellious voice is enough to impact billions.
Awakening Intuitive Intelligence
And the movement toward true intelligence happens through removing doubts, and fears. The more we transform the insecurities that reside within us, the greater our ability to trust the subtle internal messages within us, and naturally we begin to awaken the true intelligence of our being. As our self trust grows, so does our self-love and appreciation of all that is in life.
Mind Intelligence
The mind operates in a linear dimension, good and bad, positive and negative and it constantly goes into the past memory bank to help you discern, even if you are no longer behaving as in the past! Take a child who is shy and does not want to speak up. If this child has something to say, the mind will alert it to its’ old fear and possibly encourage the individual not to speak, warning them of danger. This judgment from the mind is totally useless for the current moment. That is why our dependence on the mind has to slacken to allow our growth to happen. The mind is a great bio computer and acts like a mechanism. So when fear arises at some of the outrageous ideas that come from true intelligence, we always have to watch the mind intelligence and not be affected by its noise.
Inner Being and Intelligence
Intuitive Intelligence is stronger than the mind intelligence because it is connected to your being – it knows and helps you move into the unknown.
The mind is always scared of the unknown. The mind calculates and always wants to know – “what is in it for me”- seeking certainty and unwilling to take risks. The mind is unable to trust existence and unable to surrender to new experiences, because it is totally dependent on what it already knows.
This is why the mind is fantastic in assisting you to “create” your intuitive aspiration, but it will never give you the intuitive inspiration.
That inspiration comes from silence within, and spontaneously comes to you, the more you are listening. It is usually in a shower, or just after a good nights sleep, or even in your dreams.
The mind can then recall all the logical steps that need to be taken from its library of past experiences. It will always perform very diligently and accurately. As a servant, the mind serves us well.
